No wonder nobody place well, other than very small number of outliers. The professor yells at students and is rude to students in game theory class. Another professor simply writes the notes on the board in macro class. Most students only wants to spend time in the beach and they give post docs positions to students who can't get hired so it looks better. The student coordinator is never at his office so if you have paperwork to do you have to wait 2 weeks for visa issue or other urgent matter. And I tried setting appointment with nobel prize laureate to discuss my research idea and he won't reply to me. Such a scam! I want to quit!

What kind of industry jobs do empirical and theoretical macroeconomists land (if any)? It seems like most jobs require skills with datasets which most macro folks don't have.

I was lucky to get funding for another year. What about you bros/broettes?

I’m in MRM in a structural subfield. How difficult is it to get
1)tech jobs like amazon, uber, etc
2)govt jobs like DOJ, Census, Fed Boards
3)consulting

Given that I submit my nudges to a specific position. I have good letter writers for each of the 3 sectors described above

Those "successful" APs or JMC who never publish ANYTHING on their own, yet publish in AER, QJE, JPE and what not with their super famous advisor, and make a living by coauthoring in top 5 journals with super famous people.

I am surprised by how many of them thrive on the market, get great positions, get invited to this and to that...

Let's name and shame them here, so that it becomes clear what the rest of us hard-working independent researchers think about them.
